Soft Starts

Releasing The Weight, Showing Up Is The First Step

Before you dive into this new week, take a moment with me. Breathe in slowly. Let yourself feel the inhale… and the release.

Life is always shifting—sometimes gently, sometimes like a storm. At times, it can feel like everything is out of control.

Nobody is perfect, and No Body is perfect. So don’t be afraid to make this morning about tending, not striving. Give your soul a moment of self-care—whatever that looks like today.

Let’s look inward and think about something that has been bringing you down. Let’s imagine it as a feather, no longer carrying the weight it once held. Hold the feather in your hand. What does it look like? Is it big, dark, and probably from a predatory bird, or is it soft, light, and airy?

No matter the size, color, or condition, feel how light it can be. Some feathers are used for writing our stories, while others are meant to drift away. At this time, decide how you will use your feather moving forward. Take a deep inhale.…..hold…….let your exhale be slow and thoughtful as you release the weight, use it accordingly to write a new beginning or release it into the wind.

You showed up. That’s the first step.

Welcome

This space is new, fresh in its pages, but built from a deep desire to hold space for gentleness. Soft Starts isn’t about productivity. It’s about presence. And presence, in all its imperfect beauty, is more than enough.

So, if you’re reading this with tired eyes or a heavy spirit, welcome. I am glad you’re here. You don’t need to be ready to begin—only willing.

Join the Discussion What’s something you’re carrying into this week? And what’s one thing you’re willing to let be softer?
